Forecasting, AI narrative analysis, on-set monitoring, and field hardware — deployed and managed by CINERA. Heat stress (WBGT), air quality (PM2.5 / EPA AQI), and live weather, all on one dashboard. Built for the unpredictability of outdoor shoots.
One integrated service — from forecast to field.
Multi-source ensemble forecasting, 30-year climate normals, AI narrative analysis, and shareable report links for production heads. Know what the weather will be before you commit to a schedule.
Live on-site weather data from a Tempest station at your exact location. Camera visuals of conditions, lightning alerts, and push notifications the moment conditions change. The HAZARD bundle adds wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) heat stress monitoring and PurpleAir PM2.5 air quality — EPA-corrected for wildfire smoke, classified to the 2024 six-category AQI system.
Exported .docx reports for insurance, email digests for your production team, and archived weather history per location. A paper trail that holds up.
From kickoff call to wrap return — no procurement headache.

Temperature alone does not capture what crew are exposed to on a summer exterior shoot. Wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) combines air temperature, radiant heat from the sun, and humidity into a single number that directly maps to occupational heat stress guidelines. The Ecowitt WBGT kit provides continuous on-site readings — the same measurement used by athletics organizations and military health standards.
Air quality during wildfire season is equally difficult to assess from a forecast alone. The PurpleAir Flex sensor measures fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in real time at your exact location. Raw sensor output is corrected for wildfire smoke composition using the Barkjohn EPA algorithm, then classified to the EPA 2024 six-category AQI system — Good, Moderate, Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, Unhealthy, Very Unhealthy, or Hazardous — so decisions about outdoor crew work are based on the same scale used by public health agencies.
Both sensors are included in the HAZARD hardware bundle and integrate directly into the CINERA on-site monitoring dashboard alongside Tempest weather data.
Ecowitt WN38 wet-bulb globe sensor + WN32 sensor array + GW1200 gateway. Measures radiant heat, humidity, and air temperature together — not air temperature in isolation. Readings displayed on the dashboard with work/rest threshold guidance.
PurpleAir Flex dual-laser particle sensor. Raw CF1 output corrected using the Barkjohn 2022 equation for wildfire smoke composition. Classified to the EPA 2024 AQI six-category system. Channel A/B divergence monitoring detects sensor degradation automatically.
Configurable push notifications for WBGT and AQI thresholds. Your safety coordinator and production team are alerted the moment conditions require action — work/rest protocol, mask guidance, or production hold.

SERVICE
Choose how involved CINERA is in the physical deployment.
Included in hardware rental
Hardware arrives pre-configured and tested. Plug into power, connect to network, and CINERA handles the rest remotely. Step-by-step setup guide included. Remote support available throughout the shoot.
$2,500 install + $750/mo managed
A CINERA technician installs and commissions everything on location. Hardware is mounted, networked, and verified before crew arrives. We handle maintenance visits during the shoot and decommission at wrap.
SOFTWARE
Rented hardware delivers raw on-site data. The CINERA Intelligence subscription turns it — and five external weather sources — into production decisions.
All Accounts
30-year historical climate data included with every CINERA account. Month-by-month temperature and precipitation breakdowns for any location, before any hardware is rented.
Per Production
Live forecasting and safety intelligence activated per production. Multi-source ensemble conditions from six independent networks plus GEM NWP, government-issued alerts, radar, shoot day risk assessment, AI narrative analysis, and .docx reports for location binders and insurance submissions.
Active Shoot
Rented hardware on location feeds hyper-local data directly into the dashboard. Tempest weather station updates every 60 seconds. HAZARD bundle adds wet-bulb globe temperature (WBGT) for heat stress tracking and a PurpleAir PM2.5 sensor for real-time air quality — corrected for wildfire smoke, classified to the EPA 2024 six-category AQI system. Camera feed and push alerts complete the picture.
A note on AI analysis
Weather narratives are generated by Anthropic's Claude AI and clearly labelled throughout the platform. They are a production planning aid — not a forecast from a national meteorological service, and not produced by a certified meteorologist. Always verify current conditions and any active Environment Canada alerts before committing crew to an exterior location in marginal conditions.
